This was huge for the Rangers for a few reasons. One is that they needed to tie the game and it always hurts the opposition to score in the last minute of play, let alone the last second of the period. Two, this was McCabe’s first true “blast” from the point for a goal and it was why the Rangers acquired him.
Over these last three games of the season, if the Rangers can get McCabe and his shot going, or at least stretch out the penalty killers more because of it, the Rangers powerplay could start looking up.
…he was at a near Prospal-level of excitement. Hopefully there are more to come from McCabe
