In the NY Post, Larry Brooks reports that the Rangers are starting to work on a contract extension with Brandon Prust to stop him from hitting the open market on July 1.
Prust has a cap hit of $800,000 this season.
He is seventh in the league in penalty minutes. He has 14 fighting majors this season.
Prust averages close to 12 minutes a game and about 1:30 on the PK.
