In the NY Post, Brad Richards tells Larry Brooks that while the style of play has changed from their time in Tampa Bay, John Tortorella still has the same team concept in mind:

“Torts is constantly reminding us that it’s our responsibility to be ready for the next game and to keep our minds clear of anything beyond that. It was the same way in Tampa. We were rolling along and didn’t really have a clue about anything bigger than the next game.

“We were in first place but that was never the topic of conversation. That was Torts’ influence then and it’s his influence now.”

Recently, John Tortorella talked about how the Rangers are a “hard team,” “we always talk about being a hard time. Being a hard team doesn’t just mean finishing your checks or fighting, it’s about taking a hit to make a play, it’s blocking shots.”

Henrik Lundqvist said on the post game on MSG on Tuesday that, “we been doing a good job of staying focused and doing the right things out there.”
