At TSN, Bob McKenzie writes that the price for the Hurricanes Tuomo Ruutu is a “significant draft pick and a solid prospect” or a top prospect on it’s own.
McKenzie says that the Rangers have real interest in Ruutu, 28, because of his ability to score and play physical:
The Rangers, for example, figure Ruutu is just the type of Top 9 forward that could play coach John Tortorella’s demanding style.
McKenzie says that the choice to leave will be put into Ruutu’s hands and if he elects that he wants to stay in Carolina, he could sign an extension.
He is a UFA at the end of the season and has 16 goals and 11 assists this season.
