Read: Ken Gernander Keeps Going

by Adam Rotter on July 25th, 2011 at 11:03 am

At the Hartford Courant, Paul Doyle writes about Connecticut Whale coach Ken Gernander and how he hockey and his team are a big part of the offseason for him.

Doyle says that Gernander is in communication with his players and got to work with some future players at the Rangers prospect development camp.

I wonder where Gernander fits into the Rangers long-term? John Tortorella speaks nicely about him and how the players that they call up are ready to play, but I wonder if they view him as any more than being the coach for the Whale. John Tortorella is under contract for the next three years and is clearly calling the shots as coach, but maybe Gernander comes in to replace Mike Sullivan if he gets a head coaching job.
