Dave Maloney only used one set of golf clubs this past summer
Maloney believes that Marc Staal will be signed, and thinks it will happen soon
On Redden, Maloney says that the Rangers want Redden to be a good player and Redden wants to be a good player
Next Saturday John Tortorella joins Dave and Bill Pidto
Todd White looks very small, especially seated next to Dave Maloney and Martin Biron
White says he hasn’t thought of a role on the team. He will play whatever role and wants to show what he can do.
Biron says Lundqvist’s patience is a key element to his game. Biron also talks very fast
Biron talks of the game being more mental than physical at this stage in his career. He talked a lot more than White did
Matt Gilroy and Michael Del Zotto
Both Gilroy and Del Zotto look bigger. Gilroy says he worked out on Long Island all summer with a trainer and is still filling into his body at 26
Gilroy says he wants to be more aggressive and engaged WITHOUT the puck. He worked at that all summer
Del Zotto says that this is the strongest he has been since he has been a New York Ranger.
Gilroy says he is mentally ready for this season. He is motivated by his benching last season and he is now ready to be a bigger part of the team.
…Del Zotto handles himself like he is a ten year pro. Gilroy still looks a little timid but has a look of determination and motivation for this coming season.
Prospects
On Derek Stepan, Maloney thinks that he could have a chance to crack the Rangers lineup, but should probably go to Hartford to get some “seasoning”
On Ryan McDonagh, he reminds Maloney of someone like Marc Staal and can make a good first pass.
It appears that they are replaying the show again
