ESPN.com: Atlantic Division Recap

…Burnside says the Rangers don’t have a powerplay QB. Apparently he has never heard of Michael Del Zotto or potentially Matt Gilroy, both of which can fit that role

It is a couple of days old, so it still mentions Brashear.

    What Burnside fails to mention:

This division, the most competitive in hockey, is almost always a toss up. 3 of the 5 teams, sometimes 4 make the playoffs.

You can’t really argue with how he ranks the Rangers though. Philadelphia is the reigning Eastern Conference champs, Pittsburgh only a year removed from being Stanley Cup champs, and the Devils almost always finding away to finish in the top few spots.

How can we rank this Ranger team above any of those three?

If those young Islanders start maturing sooner than later, and they find some steadiness between the pipes, I could see them moving up from the basement…

The Rangers are in rebuilding mode, and this is a wonderful thing… Only if we didn’t have to wait so long for Drury, Redden and Rozsival to come off the books…
