Buzz: Interest In Simon Gagne Could Pick Up
According to Chuck Gormley of the Courrier Post, once Ilya Kovalchuk has decided where he will play, interest in Simon Gagne of the Flyers should pick up.
Gormley lists teams like the Kings and Islanders who appear to have struck out with Kovalchuk as teams the Flyers could look to deal Gagne too.
…The Islanders probably have zero interest in Gagne and their interest in Kovalchuk appears to have been greatly overstated. That offer of $100 million wasn’t real and now they will be linked to all high priced players the rest of the summer because of one or two calls they made on Kovalchuk.
Kovalchuk was a good risk to take, elite 27 year old scorer, Gagne, while a very good player, isn’t in their best interest.
The Kings though still could be a fit for him.
