Buzz: Florida Signs Christopher Higgins
Update:1:38PM:
Pierre LeBrun tweets that the Flames wanted Christopher Higgins back.
…I don’t get Calgary. I just don’t get it. I was talking to someone earlier in the week who said it was an awesome place and that I should go there, but what is Darryl Sutter doing or want to do.
Original Post:
The Florida Panthers are close to signing former Ranger Christopher Higgins to a one year deal worth $1.6 million according to Kevin Allen.
Higgins made $2.25 million last season split between the Rangers and Flames
…Low risk move for the Panthers who will either get a gritty guy who takes a lot of shots that miss the net and go into the goalies chest, or someone who will score 20 goals. Either way, one year and $1.6 is a nice get for Higgins who needs to work his game back to where it was when he was traded to the Rangers.
I spent so much of last summer writing about Higgins and hoping he would up his game when he came home, but it didn’t happen. Nice guy though.
