Buzz: Not A Lot Of Dealing For Rangers And Isles

Arthur Staple of Newsday writes today that while many teams are making big trades, not to expect the Rangers and Islanders to do so.

Staple thinks that the Rangers could make a smaller trade, like they did for Chad Johnson last year, rather than a big-time deal.

He also says that the Islanders have entertained offers for the fifth overall pick, but don’t plan to move it.

…I think that the Isles could move down, but they won’t trade the pick outright for a player.

I could see Glen Sather pulling off another minor move; he did it for Jyri Niemi already and could do it again with picks or the RFAs the team has.
