World Championships: Canada Rolls Over Latvia, Chad Johnson Plays

by Adam Rotter on May 10th, 2010 at 4:31 pm

Canada defeated Latvia 6-1 in their second World Championship game.

The Isles Jonathan Tavares scored two goals,Steven Stamkos, Steve Downie and Marc Giordano scored two for Canada

Rangers goalie Chad Johnson played the third period stopping 11 of 12 shots

…Nice to see him get the third, should make the whole trip over worth it.

The Rangers other players finished with these stats:

Marc Staal played 12:04, was a plus one and had one shot on goal. He played 2:59, 3:56 and 5:09 in each period.

Michael Del Zotto played 14:23, had no shots and was an even rating. He played 5:47, 4:37 and 3:59 in each period

…Seemed like Canada spread out the ice times for this game since it was a rout. Not a bad idea to get more players involved in an easier game. I didn’t watch so I am not sure, but that would be my guess as to why Staal played less than some other defensemen
