Read: Salary Is Still In Play
At USA Today, Kevin Allen writes about the salary cap and how teams are dealing with it in regards to parity and the playoffs.
…Its interesting. The Rangers were one of those teams that spent a ton, if you remember, and were around 70 million or so and didn’t make the playoffs. Now that there is an even playing field, or an amount they can’t spend over, its interesting to see what they do. Especially with Wade Redden on the roster, they are limited and will always be close to the cap and because of that will always be struggling with it.
Then there are teams like the Isles who are down by the floor and need to sign guys to just to be eligible to play.
