Quotes: More Praise For Parenteau
Last night P.A. Parenteau picked up another assist and was a plus three in nearly 18 minutes of ice time last night.
…I have to say, he is playing better than I gave him credit for. He had these spurts in a previous call-up but the fact that he is playing like this in a big spot tells a lot about him.
After the game John Tortorella praised Parenteau for his pass to set up Marc Staal‘s eventual game winner:
“You look at Parenteau, he’s a creative guy – a lot of guys would have dumped that puck in before that flow, but he held onto it and made a great play, and we got a guy joining,” John Tortorella said. “Obviously that got us the winning goal, it’s a huge goal.”
His linemate the last two games, Olli Jokinen says that Parenteau reminds him of Jozef Stumpel. He had 196 goals and 481 assists in his career.
…At this point Parenteau is an NHL player. He has accomplished enough in the minor leagues to warrant a real shot and hopefully the Rangers give him another one over the last six games. He is a free agent at the end of the season and unless he can secure a spot on the Rangers next year, he may go somehwere else where he can get NHL minutes. He deserves it.
