Buzz: Rangers Interested In Mats Zucarrello-Aasen
According to Steve Zipay, the Rangers have shown interest in Norwegian forward Mats Zucarrello-Aasen.
Zucarrello, 22, is 5-7 and starred for Norway at the Olympics. Zipay says that Rangers GM Glen Sather has spoken with him and his agent.
Zuccarello played for Modo of the Swedish Elite League, along with Peter Forsberg and former Ranger Markus Naslund, and had 23 goals and 41 assists this season to lead Modo.
Previous reports had listed Chicago as a team with interest.
…He could be someone to have interest in because he is young, can score and most likely won’t cost a huge ton of money. He is small, but so is Brian Gionta and he has carved out quite a nice career for him.
This should be a story to keep an eye on. There was a lot of buzz about him at the Olympics.
