From the newspaper earlier today, Andrew Gross, in The Record, writes about the Rangers continuing on the play from Sunday.
In case you missed it, and how dare you, read a transcript of Steve Zipay’s Live Chat at Newsday.
Craig Custance of the Sporting News chatted with former Ranger Brendan Shanahn about another former Ranger, Jaromir Jagr. Shanny believes that Jagr will be a “wildcard”at the Olympics because he wants to prove he can still play in the NHL.
…There is a spot for you in New York…
The Minnesota Wild have put former Ranger Petr Sykora on waivers.
…Don’t expect him to start missing the net again for the Rangers. He was incredible in the shootout though.
Former Islander Michael Peca has retired from the NHL. Peca, 35, also played in Vancouver, Buffalo, Edmonton, Toronto and Columbus.
In 19 career games at MSG, he had six goals and six assists.
…Ill never forget one, in which Radek Dvorak rang a shot off the crossbar and Peca took the puck skated down and beat Mike Richter. It may even still be in certain Isles promos it was such a big goal. He also went knee on knee with Jamie Lundmark after Darcy Tucker did the same to him in the 2001 playoffs. He was rumored to be close to signing with the Rangers in 2007 but the deal didn’t come to fruition.
Does anyone else remember Peca refusing a trade to the Rangers when he held out that season before the Isles traded for him?
