By Adam Rotter on November 23, 2009, 9:45AM

Panthers Rangers HockeyFor the first time since suffering a concussion on November 7th, Chris Drury skated with his teammates. Drury skated in a non-contact variety but told Andrew Gross that it still feels good to be back on the ice:

“It’s good, you feel like you’re back in the mix,” said Drury, who skated for the first time Saturday but still has not gone through any contact drills. “It’s a good day. My legs feel like I had two weeks off. My head feels good.”

Rangers defenseman Wade Redden sees the return of Drury as a big moment for the team:

“He plays a big role for us, killing penalties and just having that presence. It’d be good to get him back here soon.”

…Drury skating was certainly a great sign, but to practice with his teammates should mean that he isn’t too far away from his return. He still needs to go through some contact practices and make sure that everything is 100% okay before he returns. I wouldn’t think of bringing him back until Friday at the earliest.
