Last night, Christopher Higgins told Steve Zipay that had the Rangers played the first period like they played the rest of the game, the outcome could have been different.
“We’re missing something,” said Chris Higgins, who had four shots. “We had plenty of opportunities, we’re just lacking that extra finish. If we had played the first part of the game like we did the second half, (the Rangers outshot the Panthers 27-16 after the first period), it might be different.”
A few weeks ago, Ryan Callahan expressed the same sentiment about playing a more complete game.
….Seems to be the popular sentiment around the team. They need to play more consistently and play a whole sixty minutes. It seems like this type of thing has been dogging the Rangers for years.
