Practice: PRACTICE IS OVER….GET OFF MY PROPERTY

by Adam Rotter on November 19th, 2009 at 2:44 pm

John Tortorella ended the Rangers practice abruptly today and didn’t let anyone stay on after to work on any specific issues.

…I like it, that is asserting authority.

He told Andrew Gross that “they had been on the ice long enought”.

The biggest news out of practice is that Tortorella told reporters that Chris Drury was going to see the doctors today and had been having “good days” recently.

Part of today’s practice was focused on the powerplay which saw Ryan Callahan, Vinny Prospal, Marian Gaborik, Michael Del Zotto and Ales Kotalik on one unit. The second unit consisted of Sean Avery, Christopher Higgins, P.A. Parenteau with either Marc Staal and Matt Gilroy on the points or Michal Rozsival and Wade Redden at the points.

….Interesting but I don’t see how the second unit will score unless Gilroy makes it all happen. Its a little strange that the best player on that second unit offensively is either Gilroy or Parenteau, and P.A. was just called back up.

Kotalik was also moved up to play on the top line with Gaborik and Prospal. Enver Lisin was bumped down to play with Higgins and Parenteau.
