Freddy Sjostrom spent spent part of the 2007-08 season with the Rangers and all but three games last season with the team.

He wasn’t signed by the Rangers and signed a two year deal with Calgary in the off-season.

Sjostrom, who is Swedish, still counts a fellow Swede who is on the Rangers as one of his closest friends, Henrik Lundqvist and Sjostrom thinks he knows the best way to score on his countryman:

“He’s in Kipper’s class — one of the best goalies in the league, for sure,” Sjostrom said. “It’s like any good goalie — if you come one-on-one and you shoot, probably eight out of 10 times, he’s gonna save it. You’ve gotta get screens and you’ve gotta tip pucks. Dirty goals, that’s how you score on those guys.”
