According to Jim Cerny, via twitter, the Rangers have named Vinny Prospal alternate captain.

The Rangers had been going with only one alternate captain, Ryan Callahan and Captain Chris Drury.

Prospal has four goals and 14 assists this season.

…This is very deserving for Prospal. His play has certainly warranted this leadership role and its a good move to add another alternate captain.
