News: Shanahan out with Devils
The New Jersey Devils and Brendan Shanahan announced that Shanahan will not return to the Devils for his 22nd NHL season.
“When I signed this past summer, Lou Lamoriello, Jacques Lemaire, and I agreed that if we were unable to find a suitable fit in which I would be able to compete and contribute at the level I expect from myself, then I would simply step aside,” said Shanahan in a statement.
Shanahan has not decided yet whether or not he will retire.

Monzo: Shanahan isn’t content with playing on a fourth line. My initial thought is that he will retire, but a few months from now I can see Shanahan signing on with a Stanley Cup contender for another crack to raise the Cup.
