Artem Anisimov led the Rangers, in the pre-season, with points. In his six games played he scored four goals and added two assists.
Last season for Hartford, Anisimov scored 80 points in 81 games and he also played two games for the Rangers. One on Adam Graves night and one during the Rangers series with the Washington Capitals.
Anisimov used his play last season and his play in the pre-season to guarentee his spot on the Rangers for the upcoming season.
For more on Anisimov, visist the New York Post.
There is still the question of where he will play though. With Vinny Prospal still at Center, the Rangers then have Brandon Dubinsky and Chris Drury ahead of Anisimov and to keep him on the top three lines, either Prospal or Drury will have to shift to wing.
Prospal is the obvious choice to move, but coach Tortorella likes him centering Marian Gaborik. I have been a huge proponent in the past of moving Drury to the wing, but it never works out as well as it seems.
