Over the weekend, Corey Potter was on one five players that the Rangers re-assigned to Hartford.
Potter, 25, played five games with the Rangers last season, scoring one goal and adding an assist.
Since 2006, after graduating from Michigan State, Potter has been in Hartford, with some time in Charlotte spliced in.
He had 32 points in 67 games for Hartford last season.
Potter was originally a fourth round pick in 2003.

….While its a setback for Potter to start the season, he will probably be the first call-up from Hartford, him or Ilkka Heikinnen, and he should receive some time with the Rangers this season.
At worse I thought Potter would be the Rangers seventh defenseman, but it seems like Alexei Semenov has jumped him on the depth chart and with Matt Gilroy, Michael Del Zotto and Bobby Sanguinetti ahead of him already, this was a tough break for Potter.
