Defensive Pairings
After watching these games and watching highlights, videos and reading articles and blogs, I’ve come up with the defensive pairings I think would work well. Granted, these have all been tossed around all offseason, but here goes:
This is not a knock on Bobby Sanguinetti — in fact, after seeing him play these past two games, I have been pleasantly surprised with what I have seen and think he is all but NHL ready. Unfortunately, Redden and Rozsival are sucking up roster spots and are going to hold him back until they move one of them.
Gilroy has been the Rangers best player in the preseason and Del Zotto has looked more comfortable every time he touches the ice.
All this shows is how the Rangers youth on D is deep and with Ryan McDonagh, Corey Potter, Michael Sauer, Ilkka Heikkinen and Nigel Williams the Rangers are stacked with potential NHL defenseman.
