After watching these games and watching highlights, videos and reading articles and blogs, I’ve come up with the defensive pairings I think would work well. Granted, these have all been tossed around all offseason, but here goes:
This is not a knock on Bobby Sanguinetti — in fact, after seeing him play these past two games, I have been pleasantly surprised with what I have seen and think he is all but NHL ready. Unfortunately, Redden and Rozsival are sucking up roster spots and are going to hold him back until they move one of them.
Gilroy has been the Rangers best player in the preseason and Del Zotto has looked more comfortable every time he touches the ice.
All this shows is how the Rangers youth on D is deep and with Ryan McDonagh, Corey Potter, Michael Sauer, Ilkka Heikkinen and Nigel Williams the Rangers are stacked with potential NHL defenseman.

Hey Monzo was McDonaugh even at training camp? I feel like we hardly heard of him. Supposedly he’s a stud.
He’s in college and thus was not at training camp
I agree with the pairings. Who could argue with the top two pairs? Redden and Rozsival should play as little as possible just to give the first two pair a breather. Even in that limited role the both of these clowns will screw it up enough to lose their roster spots before Christmas. If management is supposed to put the best product on the ice with these two phony bologna “D” men on the roster and with Sanguinetti, Semenov, Ryan McDonagh, Corey Potter, Michael Sauer, Ilkka Heikkinen and Nigel Williams not, IS MANAGEMENT DOING THEIR JOB??????????? Dolan you imbecile if you had any balls you would cut ties with Redden and Rozsival ASAP cause they could not make a lot of High School rosters right now! They will be the direct cause of many goals and losses and hopefully before too long they will either be fired or hurt where they can do no more harm to the team.
Its not that easy to just buy Redden out. That would hurt the cap big time
give him a chance. He is not worth the money but their are worse Dmen out their. We just snap on him cause he is maybe the worst contract in the league
Rozsival can be traded at some pt. He still will hold some value especially when his actualy dollars earned goes down the next 2 yrs
Man it’s a real tough call on Sanguinetti or DelZotto. I guess it can’t hurt to try Del Zotto first for 9 games then decide if he goes back and if he does well they have Sangs and others
BTW look at the Hartford D. Someone may be moved and if so I would guess Potter given his age
WolfPac:
Lets say
Sanguinetti, Sauer
Williams, Kundratek
Henley, Potter……………………….good lord that is stacked
