…Missed the game due to Rosh Hashanah dinner. DVR’ed Rangers In 60 which I will watch tomorrow. For those that watched, who stood out, who played well, who didn’t?

Also….Phil Kessel is a Maple Leaf, more on that tomorrow morning.

    - Anisimov was cruising, he wants Dubi’s spot
    - Voros has a small fire lit under his arss
    - Callahan showed much improvement on his forecheck
    - Drury was smart with the puck, he looks very very comfortable + having fun
    - Grachev showed his strength

Loving the new attitude + attack scheme, go rangers!

    To add to that…

-Voros looks like hes gained a half step

-Our top pair (R&R) were just terrible

    -Henrik was a wall

-Anisimov took control at times, good speed, drove to the net hard, WAY less passive than he was

-Semenov might make this team, he played a simple game and used his size to get in the way of things and blocked a few shots. He’s quite mobile for a big man, and he clears the crease.

-Heikkanen was solid, but as Joe Micheletti said tonight, does a lot of things good but nothing great

    -Sangs was OK

-Grachev had flashes of brilliance, had a breakaway that osgood stopped and lisin tipped the rebound home

-Zaba let in 3 softies (bad angle fluke short side, short side up high, and slap shot from above the circle on the rush with no screen)

-the line of boyle, brash, and voros looked suprisingly energetic, generated a good amount of chances, and had long periods of puck possession in the offensive zone.

-also, Brash is actually a much better skater and hockey player than I had originally thought. Never thought Id say this, but for the little bit of extra money we paid for this guy he is a definite upgrade over Orr in terms of skill in addition to fighting. Brash is good for 10-15 points over Orr’s average of about 3.

Overall, the rangers look like theyre in shape, forecheck was relentless and most d-men were athletic enough to pinch to keep the puck in the offensive zone and skate hard to get back to their position when the play went the other way, something that hasnt been seen in a while.

Even though its another loss, as a ranger fan you still have plenty to be excited about IMO.

I never thought i would say this either, Brashear is quite a hockey player. Probably never gave him an honest look because he was always the Orr Nemesis.
