Evgeny Grachev has played in both of the Rangers preseason games. He doesn’t have a point but has moved well and used his size to help create opportunities.
Grachev, who had 80 points for Brampton last season, will survive today’s first round of cuts and continue to work towards making the final NHL roster.
For more on Grachev, read the NY Daily News.
….Grachev has played pretty well so far and has created a good amount of chances for his teammates and himself. His talent and size is something that can only be matched by a few, but, unless he scores a lot in the remainging pre-season games he plays, he should start the season in Hartford. He would most likely play on the top line in Hartford and get to play alot more then he would on John Tortorella’s third line. Now, if Brandon Dubinsky doesn’t sign, or is traded, Grachev’s chances will increase. At that point, he would give the Rangers a lot more depth at center and wing and he could make more of an impact.
