The Devils defeated the Rangers 3-2 in a shootout tonight at The Rock in New Jersey.

- - Matt Gilroy solidified his spot on the team with a fantastic move to the net and finishing with a great backhand shot and a goal in the shootout.
- -Jordan Owens scored the Rangers second goal to tie the game at two. Michael Del Zotto picked up an assist on it.
- -Del Zotto took a tripping penalty in Overtime
- The Rangers players in the shootout were Ales Kotalik (MISS), Enver Lisin (MISS) Gilroy (GOAL) P.A. Parenteau (MISS) Del Zotto (MISS) Vinny Prospal (MISS)
- The Devils players in the shootout were Brendan Shanahan (MISS) David Clarkson (MISS) Zach Parise (GOAL) Niklas Bergfors (MISS) Brian Rolston (MISS) Travis Zajac (GOAL)
- - Clarkson scored two goals for the Devils. Both as an indirect result of Michal Rozsival‘s play.
- - The Rangers scored late in the first but it was dissalowed because of a Sean Avery goalie interference call
- - Shanahan wore the “C” for the Devils tonight and had an assist.
- - Aaron Voros got absolutely destroyed in a fight with Mark Fraser.
- - Henrik Lundqvist stopped 16 of 17 shots.
- Chad Johnson stopped of shots
- -Patrick Rismiller wore #19, formerly of Scott Gomez
- -Gilroy played 28:00, 5:30 on the powerplay.
- -Del Zotto played 25:37 and 6:03 on the powerplay.
- -Grachev played 17:24 and had four shots. 4:43 on the powerplay.
- -Ales Kotalik had five shots, and only one missed shot recorded.
- -Matt Maccarone played 6:00 and had one shot.
…Gilroy was all over the ice tonight, Michael Del Zotto on the other hand came back to earth somewhat tonight. Grachev certainly had some moments tonight but it still seems like he would be better suited to spend some time in Hartford. I liked how Brian Boyle played…Enver Lisin flys and it looks like it takes no effort. Chad Johnson has looked very good tonight, very good.
