How about this?
After a long offseason — the draft, free agency….the Rangers have made a lot of additions to this team: Marian Gaborik, Chris Higgins, Vinny Prospal, Don Brashear, Ales Kotalik….and more.
You know what I love? The fact that there is potential, while it is unlikely, that there could be six rookies on this roster.
Evgeny Grachev, Artem Anisimov, Michael Del Zotto, Bobby Sanguinetti, Matt Gilroy and Dane Dyers.
It is unlikely, but it is refreshing knowing that youth is now a major part of this team. Ryan Callahan and Brandon Dubinsky are both under 25 and both Marc Staal and Dan Girardi are not even close to their primes.
Point is — the Rangers are finally going in a direction needed to build for success.
And by the way, let’s hope that future doesn’t include trading for Dany Heatley.
