Informal Practice: Day 2
Andrew Gross and Steve Zipay have reports up on their respective blogs about the second day of the Rangers informal practices.
Gross talked with Rangers back-up goalie Steve Valiquette about the NHLPA getting rid of Paul Kelley yesterday. Valley also said that he would be apart of a small group that will help decide on Kelly’s replacement.
Gross also spoke with new Ranger Enver Lisin and how he is adjusting to New York and being a Ranger. Lisin said that in his time in NY, he is already not a fan of the cabs:
He was saying he hasn’t decided where to live yet but that NYC feels different to him than Moscow, even though both are big cities. He said he jumped in a cab the other day and was amazed, and scared, at how little the cab driver seemed to value human life.
….You and me both Enver, you and me both.
He also notes that the reports on Lisin are right, he is very fast.

Zipay has some quick hits of what he saw at practice, such as
- -Sean Avery and Chris Drury being on the ice.
- -Ales Kotalik should be in tomorrow, while Vinny Prospal will be with the team soon.
- -Steve Valiquette and his wife had a son over the summer.
