Thoughts/Poll and Expections of Ryan Callahan
By Brian Monzo - Jul 19, 2009 12:11 pm

Every season there are a few players to look out for.  Despite the Rangers signing Marian Gaborik, signing Matt Gilroy and trading for Chris Higgins — the name everyone should be looking for something very big from is Ryan Callahan.  After a pretty generic start to his career, Callahan took off last season, scoring 22 goals, hitting everyone on the ice (ranked 4th in the league with 265 hits) and mixing it up when needed.

Callahan was rewarded for his stellar season with a two-year deal worth $4.6 million.

What do you guys expect from Callahan this season?

I say Cally will be good for 30+ goals. He just found himself last year. I think that his progress goes one step further this season. If he stays healthy all year I think he hits his stride early and we could see 30+ goals this year. Hey if Hartnell can score 30 in Philly, Cally can do it for the Rangers! Besides it’s not even August so every hockey fan gets to have some lofty expectations at this point, even Islander fans!
