I’m leaning towards Zherdev myself, but I’ll admit I have seen very little of Kotalik in action.

Zherdev def has more upside than Kotalik, who had 20 goals and 23 assists last season. Zherdev underperformed highly last season and still managed 58 pts

I still think they need a top center — but gun to my head, this may be it.

Zherdev is better in every aspect of the game besides the shootout (and maybe defensive zone)… However Kotalik is kind of a Zherdev-Lite and his signing means the end for Z in NY.

my vote goes to Kotalik. 20 goal scorer 4 of 6 years. nice playoff experience, with Drury in fact. Enough of the fading and dragging, the whole league knows the move already, what! As Somers would say! I think the Rangers will look to add another guy or 2 similar to Kotalik. I’ll take 2 more 20 goal scorers. Then we’ll be out of cap room. Moreover we’ll be getting ready to see Dubinsky as the teams #1 C. You know what it’s time for Dubi to put up or hit the road. If he plays with Gaborik he better have 20-25 goals and 40 assists, THATS MINIMUM DUBI, otherwise why should we NOT TRADE THIS GUY!! Frankly I think he can do it. But this is July and everybody has lofty expectations at this point. If by the middle of January Dubinsky hasn’t shown he will come close to fulfilling minimum requirements of his position we have to consider making a big move including Dubinsky to get another sniper, say … KOVULCHUK!!!!!!!!! I’M SICK AND TIRED OF 15 YEARS GOING ON 16 YEARS OF UNACCEPTABLE HOCKEY. I’M TALKING 3RD ROUND PLAYOFFS OR BETTER. I’M TIRED OF GOING TO ALL THE GAMES AND SEEING A PRETENDER OF A TEAM! THIS IS THE NY RANGERS AND IT’S HIGH TIME TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP TO THE ELITE IN THE NHL. AS LARRY THE CABLE GUY SAYS SATHER GET ER DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ZHERDEV IS A PRETTY GOOD STICKHANDLER BUT AS FOR TOUGHNESS AND SPEED I THINK WE GET THE BETTER OF THAT DEAL WITH KOTALIK. THERE WERE TIMES LAST YEAR ZHERDEV WAS INVISIBLE TOTALLY
