News: Perry Pearn Lands In Montreal

by Adam Rotter on July 6th, 2009 at 11:36 am

Former Rangers assistant coach Perry Pearn has been hired by the Montreal Canadiens according to reports.

Pearn was in charge of the Rangers special teams and continally had the Rangers near the top of the penalty killing ranking but just the oppositte with the powerplay.

This reunites Pearn and Montreal Head Coach Jacques Martin, who coached together for many years in Ottawa.

Pearn was fired along with Tom Reneny last February.

Good for Pearn. I never thought he was the problem with the powerplay. Unless he was the one telling Michal Rozsival not to shoot, then I don’t think he was the problem. Besides that, his penalty killing system was incredible.
