The Rangers prospect development camp has continued the past two days even while the team has started to re-make itself. Andrew Gross of the Record was there and has these reports.
On Tuesday the prospects were put through a 45 lap skate, the goalies only had to do 36, to again test conditioning and probably some mental toughness also. Rangers brass seemed to want a final burst on the final lap, something that shows competitiveness and drive.
Evgeny Grachev seems to be a fantastic skater with long, fluid strides as the hype surrounding the Russian prospect continues to intensify.
On Wednesday the prospects finally scrimmaged.
- Rangers first round pick Chris Kreider was centering his fellow draftees from this year, Ryan Bourque and Ethan Werek.
- Matt Gilroy has a very good wrist shot.
- Defensemen Ilkka Heikkinen and Tomas Kundratek both had impressive performances.

Our friends at the SportsHernia provide video of Evgeny Grachev skating and have comical musings to go along with it.
The SportsHernia is one of my favorite websites, always good for a laugh. But in all seriousness, music aside, this provides a look at the monster that is Evgeny Grachev. He is HUGE and has this great skating ability.
This is all encouraging stuff to hear and thanks again to Andrew Gross for reporting on it.

thanks for this.
