Fourth Update: TSN is reporting that Neil is staying in Ottawa. Four years $8 million. Two million per year.
Whew. Dodged a bullet there.
Third Update 7:55:TSN has a story up saying that while the Rangers have offered Neil the most money and most years he is considering staying in Canada. He is an Ontario native.
Secnod Update 5:15: Dreger says the offer is 2.2 million per year for four years but that Edmonton and Toronto both have offers of three years out to Neil also.
UPDATE: Darren Dreger is reporting that the Rangers are the team that has offered Neil four years.
TSN was just reporting that three or four teams, including the Rangers, were interested in the
former Ottawa Senator.
Neil is reportedly looking for a three or four year deal.
Is he really necessary? You just brought in Brashear and you already have Sean Avery. Neil is a big body who can run people, just ask Chris Drury, but he isn’t necessary for the team now. But Glen Sather might think he is.
Clip after the jump
Monzo: I am changing my thought on Chris Neil — at first I was against this, now I am all about it. Need to get tough with Pronger and Laperierre in Philly.

Ok, none of these rumors make any sense to me…. We just gave up a 70pt guy in Gomez, and were lacking a big time goal scorer even before that…. What does signing TWO goons do for us? Can we have a GOAL SCORER PLEASE!!! I WANT VINNY!!!!
