Read: Velcro Nameplates

by Adam Rotter on June 25th, 2009 at 10:21 am

Former Islander PR Man Chris Botta relays some old draft stories over at his blog

He tells about velcro name plates for all the potential picks and hiding under a table to make sure no one would see the names he attatches.

A very cool and interesting read.

Rotter: I have always wondered how teams with mid-round picks always seem to have jerseys with the names on the back already, and that story explains it. I thought it was so cool when the Rangers gave Alexei Cherepanov a jersey with his name on when he went 17th in 2007 but also thuoght it was weird and that they must have had backup jerseys too. Again, this explains it.
