The NHL has officially announced that the 2009 class of the Hockey Hall of Fame will include
Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille and of course Rangers legend Brian Leetch.
All four players being elected in their first year of eligibility.
Also being inducted is President and GM of the Devils Lou Lamoriello.
The induction ceremony will be held on November 9.
Rotter: Obviously this was a no brainer for the four players that were selected. Leetch was the really the only reason to watch the Rangers for a few seasons and his selection is well deserved. Now about somehow getting Mike Richter in is another story. As for the other three, Steve Yzerman is by far the most underrated hockey player of all-time. Stevie Y is sixth all-time in points and it doesn’t seem like he is ever mentioned enough among the great players. Brett Hull was a tremendous goal scorer and he gets to join his father in the HHOF. Robitalle had two decent seasons with the Rangers but was a lethal goal scorer nearly everywhere else he played, especially when he played with Wayne Gretzky.
Monzo: Congratulations to all here. Great for Leetchie to make it, as for the rest — they were no-brainers. Look forward to hearing Leetch at the ceremony.
