News: Balsillie Makes Offer for Coyotes
By Brian Monzo - May 6, 2009 12:29 pm

Blackberry executive Jim Balsillie has made a $212.5 million offer to purchase the recently bankrupt Phoenix Coyotes.   The offer is conditional on the Coyotes being moved to Southern Ontario.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is currently in Phoenix working on the Coyotes financial situation.

Perhaps the best hockey writer today, Bob McKenzie has a great story on TSN about this.

Monzo: Let’s face it, this has been rumored forever — meaning the Coyotes being a financial disaster.  Balsillie has been trying to get an NHL team for some time now, perhaps this is the one he will get.

The coach should like it moving closer to his old stomping grounds.
