Well, I didn’t think I would smile much tonight.

That said, thank you Marty Brodeur.

Canes win it, and win the series.

It may be time for Sather’s departure. He has screwed us financially and they need help. Hank is the best player on this team no doubt and needs help. Imagine if he had a team that could score 3 goals in front of him?? Naslund, gone, Zherdev may have played his way out, or to a very low contract. Mara and Morris could be out just by way of the young blueliners the rangers have coming up. Maybe a trade somehow for Lecavlier or Kavalchuk, who knows how that could happen. but things do need to change, and for me it should start at the top.

    until next year……

Glen Sather needs to be FIRED!,
He has done NOTHING! but cost us money since coming here. We are seriously screwed with Redden, Gomez, Naslund and Drury. How can we pay these guys a TON of CASH ( 24 million per Year combined ) and than the best part, they combine for (( 1 shot total in game 7 of the playoffs )??…

Sather should be gone and the new GM could dump some big contracts and buy one or two of them out. Than turn around an blame Sather for the Mistakes to save face and move on with the new NHL type players..

I really think Kovolov ( Free Agent) would be a good fit for the power play if he could play Torts tempo of hockey. And maybe lecavier or Chunk would be a good fit as well..

The final goal on Brodeur sure looked a lot like Messier’s game winner in Game 6 of the Eastern Finals.

I’m not positive what they’re paying Naslund, but he was their leading goal scorer in the regular season. Hard to dump that without replacing his production. Zherdev on the other hand… no points in a 7 game series? Yeesh.

You’ve got to count down to #63 to find a Ranger on the regular season point scoring list, and that is only Antropov, who scored most of his points for the Leafs. So then you go to #73 to find Zherdev. It is a miracle this team made the playoffs with basically no offense all year long.
