The Good and the Bad
I know the reaction is going to be some kind of uproar. The Rangers lose to the Caps 4-0 at the Garden, in a game dominated by Washington. But Ranger fans, here is some good and some bad-
The good:
- The Rangers still lead the series 2-1.
- Henrik Lundqvist is still the goalie.
- Sean Avery may have gotten to Simeon Varlamov a little bit.
- Alex Ovechkin and Mike Green have still not scored a goal.
- Coach Tortorella and Coach Schoenfeld will have the team ready to go on Wednesday.
But here a few minimal reasons to not be happy:
- Nikolai Zherdev is unbearable to watch — I would consider giving Artem Anisimov a call-up, and sitting Zherdev.
- Chris Drury clearly is not healthy.
- Wade Redden and Michal Rozsival….
- Simply stated, the power-play sucks.
I would really expect the Rangers to come out Wednesday angry — otherwise, they may as well not play the game. Not to say the effort wasn’t there tonight, but there were times where it appeared they were giving up — something we haven’t seen since the coaching change.
More later…
