Here is how we are looking after all the first games–
EAST:
Rangers up 1-0 over the Capitals. Rangers got outplayed a lot of the game, but came away with the win with huge saves my Henrik Lundqvist.
Devils up 1-0 over the Hurricanes. I really thought the Hurricanes would have their way with NJ. Lesson learned. While I still think the Canes will win, nobody has their way with the NJ Devils.
Bruins up 1-0 over the Habs. They didn’t walk all over them, but I still think it will be a sweep by Boston. A lot of fiesty play between these two, as always.
Penguins up 1-0 over the Flyers. Love the Pens here, despite all the talent on Philly, goaltending, as always, is an issue. Think it may go long, but Pens are winning this.
WEST:
Ducks up 1-0 over the Sharks. Coming in as the 8th seed, the Ducks are as tough as an 8 seed as they come. For the Sharks, this was a bad draw. I still think SJ will pull it out (hell, they HAVE to), but not in an easy way.
Red Wings up 1-0 over the Blue Jackets. I want to Jackets to take this, but they have no shot. Steve Mason needs to be duplicated and cover the entire net for the Jackets to have a shot.
Canucks up 1-0 over the Blues. Still love the Blues here, but the Canucks showed me something here. They got good play from the players you would expect it from (Sedin’s, Sundin, Luongo), but I still see them as inconsistent. Still taking Blues in 6.
Chicago up 1-0 over the Flames. Great game last night, with the Hawks getting the win 13 seconds into OT. This will be a long series. I thought it would be a little boring, but it was anything but that last night.
