Local NJ native — and former NJ Devil, Philadelphia Flyer and a quality forward for eight teams, Jim Dowd, officially announced his retirement today on NHL Live!
Dowd played in 728 games and finished with 71 goals and 168 goals for 239 points. In 99 playoff games, Dowd scored 9 goals and added 17 helpers.
His best season came in 01-02 with the Minnesota Wild, scoring 13 goals and adding 30 assists. He won a Cup with the Devils in 1995.
Jim has been an analyst for NHL Radio and has been part of our video blogs on SNYRangersblog. We will be using him now throughout the playoffs and offseason for videos.
