Uphill Battle

There is no doubt amongst Rangers‘ fans, scribes and analysts that tomorrow night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at the Garden is the biggest of the season to date.

After an electrifying start to the season, the blueshirts find themselves tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with the Florida Panthers. While both teams each have three games remaining against competitive teams, it is the Rangers that find themselves with the biggest uphill battle.

Tomorrow night, the Rangers play a streaky Habs’ team that has found their game and is getting contributions up and down the lineup. In fact, with 92 points, the Canadiens are seventh in the conference and are just one point behind the Pittsburgh Penguins and three points behind the fifth place Carolina Hurricanes.

On both Thursday and Sunday night, the team will take on the Philadelphia Flyers, currently fourth in the conference with 95 points and rounding out into playoff form. The Flyers have played the blueshirts tough this year and with both teams looking to nail down a solid seed in the conference, expect two highly entertaining games.

This week will make or break the Rangers. What are your thoughts?
