And Down the Stretch They Come..

By Brian Monzo on 03. Apr, 2009

Ok — let’s try and break this down as easily as possible. It looks like there are three teams battling for the 7th and 8th seeds in the Eastern Conference. With six games to go and 92 points, it looks like the Flyers will finish no worse then 6h.

The Rangers are in 8th place now, with 89 points with four games left. The Canadiens are in 7th place with 90 points with five games to go, and the Panthers, sitting in 9th with 87 points have five games to go.

The Rangers have two home games and two road games, including a game at MSG against the Habs. The Rangers have a home and home with the Flyers and are in Boston on Saturday.

The Habs have the Maple Leafs in Toronto tomorrow, then the Senators, Rangers, Bruins and Penguins.

The Panthers have the Thrashers tonight, then the Penguins, Flyers, Thrashers and Capitals.

For the Rangers, they can’t worry about other teams — they need to try and take three of four, and grab that 7th seed from Montreal.
