News: Brodeur Activated, Clemmensen Sent to AHL

By Brian Monzo on February 25, 2009, 1:17PM

The Devils have activated goaltender Martin Brodeur from IR and sent Scott Clemmensen to their AHL affiiliate.

Clemmensen has gone 25-13-1 with two shutouts since Brodeur went down with a torn bicep muscle.  While Kevin Weekes would seem like the logical choice to be sent down to the AHL, he would have to clear waivers in order to get sent down, where Clemmensen would not.

Tom Gulitti reports in his ‘Fire & Ice’ blog that Brodeur said he will play tomorrow night when the Devils welcome the Avalanche to Newark.

I’m sure the Devils will consider trading Clemenson once they see that Marty is vintage Marty
