Poll: Artem Anisimov to NHL Roster

by Brian Monzo on January 30th, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Larry Brooks mentions today in his article that Artem Anisimov is making a case to be called up. I agree.

Just over three weeks ago I made a case for it.

Let’s try again and see what people think.

Top prospect Artem Anisimov is an AHL All-Star, notching 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points in 46 games. He was dynamic in training camp last season and this season and is on the brink of being a solid NHL’er.

The one concern about the Russian prospect is that he needs to work on the offensive side of his game, however this season he lighting it up, scoring over a point a game.

Last season with the Wolf Pack, Anisimov notched 43 points in 74 games and is on pace now for 80+ points, including 35+ goals.

Wouldn’t mind seeing what he can do on a line with Nikolai Zherdev. In fact, I am sure a lot of Rangers fans wouldn’t mind it either.

Should the Rangers call Artem Anisimov up?

I agree Anisimov should be given a shot with the big boys. We could use all the scoring we can get. Brendan Shanahan 3 goals and an assist in 5 games! Brilliant maneuver letting him go Sather! He’s only hotter than anyone on the Rangers right now. More proof of how you are totally out of touch with today’s players. Dolan do you see what’s going on here? Do you relaize the Savior has like almost 30 million per year tied up in Gomez, Drury, Naslund, and Redden? What have you bought for all that dough? A whole lot of mediocrity is all I can see. Wake up Mr. Dolan stop being a horses ass. Sather has ruined this team; the Rangers are in salary cap turmoil. Do yourself, the team and THE FANS a favor get rid of this cancer of a GM who’s doing nothing but living off the laurels of his ancient past. Use that hefty wallet of yours to lure JD away from St. Louis to take over for Sather. Then find out how involved Messier, Graves, and Richter want to be with the team. They sound like a great coaching staff to me. What a coincidence they’ll all be together Tuesday night, so find out then. We need a change and it’s got to start at the top, and it has to happen now!!!!!

by the way, all of Sather’s success in the past is even an unwarranted credit to him. The GM of those Oilers teams could have been in a coma and looked good. I could have been considered a genius too with Gretzky and Messier leading the team. Sather sucks and he must be replaced. MESSIER, GRAVES, RICHTER COME SAVE OUR TEAM ONCE AGAIN GUYS. The teams standings look a little better than at this time last year. But don’t you believe it for a second. This team is in real danger of not making the playoffs this year. Something has to be done right now.
