Notes: Off Ice Practice, Voros Quotes

By Adam Rotter on 14. Jan, 2009

Sam Weinamn of the Journal News notes in his blog that the Rangers held off ice workouts today after last nights win.

No lineup changes for Friday nights tilt in Chicago but Weinman did catch up with Aaron Voros who has been a scratch the last few games.  When asked about his time out of the lineup Voros responded:

“It’s bittersweet obviously,” he said. “You want to be in helping the team and you consider yourself valuable, but obviously we’re performing well. s there’s no reason to change anything. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I understand. I’d be lying if i said i wasn’t disappointed with the way things have gone, but I hope when I get my opportunity I’ll be ready to play.”

The Rangers will be having their Dad’s weekend this coming weekend and 18 of the players fathers will be attending including Lauri Korpikoski‘s from Finaland, Markus Naslund‘s from Sweden and Henrik Lundqvists who had many medical problems last season.

Chris Drury and Henrik Lundqvist took part in Yoga today.

Simply put Voros you should sit permanently. Why you ask? Well Petr Prucha is not only a ten times better hockey player than you, but he’s 10 times as tough with a heart as big as the Garden itself. Not to mention he can probably kick your ass in a hockey fight!
